The Italian Society of Labour History (SISLav) has been founded in Milan, at the Camera del Lavoro, on October 5th, 2012, to establish a collaborative network between groups and/or individual researchers and scholars whose interests concern the labour history in a wide and comprehensive sense. Its aim is to encourage the study of labour in various perspectives, including the interdisciplinary approach, the global and international connections, the broadening of the chronological span before the industrial revolution, as well as the renewal of a well and deeply rooted tradition of national labour history in Italy.
The relationships with the international organizations and scholars is considered to be one of the main important goals of the SISLav, as well as the link with other territorial organizations, and the dissemination of labour history studies inside and outside the academic environment.
In order to enforce those purposes, we are applying to be affiliated to the International Association Strikes and Social Conflicts.
